Explanatory Note:    The Govt. has accepted the proposal of the State Pollution Control Board for revision of consent fee under the Water Act. The consent fee charged by the State Pollution Control Board is to meet part of the expenditure incurred in the functioning of the Board, including processing of consent application, conducting inspections, analysis of effluent and water samples, complaint investigations, legal actions etc. The consent fee was last revised in 1995. The present revision is based on pollution significance of the industries and the rate prescribed is in line with the pattern of consent fee charged by other State Boards in the country. This notification is intended to achieve the above objective.
